May 24th Accident Victim Airlifted to Boston

Following a traffic accident on the May 24th holiday, a 30 year old Devonshire man was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston yesterday [May 25]

Around 10:20pm on May24th, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Trimingham Road in Paget involving a truck and a motorcycle. The Police say that it appears that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when they collided.

As a result the motorcycle rider sustained serious head injuries as well as a broken right leg. He was rushed to King Edward Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment, and was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit before being flown overseas on yesterday.

The truck driver, a 40 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the truck received moderate front end damage.

The Police say that inquiries into this incident are ongoing and Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Oswin Pereira on 295-0011.
