Capital G Donates $839 To The Centre

centrephoto3Capital G has donated a total of $839 and 25 gift bags to The Angle Street Centre in support of The Centre Drum Corps’ trip to summer training camp in Chicago, Illinois. The funds donated were raised from the sale of raffle tickets at the Capital G 22nd Annual Iron Kids Triathlon which took place on Saturday, June 26th at Clearwater Beach in St. David’s.

Iron Kids draw prizes included a 50cc Kymco ‘Iron Kids’ customized motor bike courtesy of Bermuda Motors; two H.P. Netbooks courtesy of Gateway; ten $100 value gift certificates from Wheels Cycles, and two gift certificates of $425 each from Bicycle Works. Additional prizes included gift certificates from M.E.F. and Jet Blue.

One of the objectives of The Centre’s work in the community is to help strengthen and improve the quality of community life by providing sports, cultural events and other recreational programs and activities. The Centre Drum Corps is a popular band that often performs at various venues and features the band drumming, while marching with dance steps incorporated.

The Capital G Iron Kids Triathlon is held every year to provide children 3 to 14 years the opportunity to experience the thrill of participation in competitive sports in an encouraging environment. Funds raised from the sale of raffle tickets at the Iron Kids Triathlon are donated to charity.

On June 30th, as pictured above, Keisha Webb-Gibbs, Capital G PR & Events Manager, presented a check for $839 and 25 gift bags to the children of The Centre Drum Corps.
