Jacqueline King Awarded $30,000 Scholarship
Bermudian Jacqueline King is the recipient of this year’s prestigious Conyers Dill & Pearman Legal Scholarship Award. The award, valued at $30,000 per annum for up to three years, involves a highly competitive selection process including a written application and intensive interviews.
Jacqueline was chosen as the recipient of this year’s Scholarship due to her dedication to achievement and commitment to the legal profession. She holds a Masters of Laws in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors of Laws (Honours) degree (LLB) from the University of Kent, as well as a BA in Political Science from Acadia University. Currently a summer law student in Conyers’ Corporate Department, Ms King will begin the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP Law School in London in September.
Chris Garrod, Partner in Conyers’ Corporate practice, said: “Jacqueline’s application impressed us thoroughly and we are pleased to present her with this award. It has been a pleasure to mentor such a talented Bermudian student, and Jacqueline’s experience and qualifications set an excellent foundation for a career in the law. We wish her all the best in her studies.”
Commenting on the award, Jacqueline said: “It is an honour to receive the Conyers Legal Scholarship. I have found Conyers an exciting and invigorating place to work, with a great environment for fostering excellence among young Bermudians. I look forward to applying what I have learned here when I return to university.”
