Teen Plays 2 Events in 1 Day: Places 2nd & 3rd
Teenage tennis player Shiloh Todd had a whirlwind competition schedule which saw him play, and place well, in two tournaments overseas.
Shiloh played in the Atlanta Juniors Championship under 14s Level 4 round robin tournament and the Blackburn GA Satellite Level 5 under 16s tournament – both held in Atlanta.
On Sunday, October 24, Shiloh had 4 scheduled matches; 2 in each tournament; he played 3 (lost the 2nd on purpose to make his semi finals) and had to default the 3rd but still placed third in that tournament.
Due to him completing Round 3 of the Atlanta Juniors Championship under 14s Level 4 round robin tournament, he arrived delayed but still in time for the semi-finals of the Blackburn GA Satellite Level 5 under 16s tournament.
Due to the delay and in accordance with USTA regulations, he was penalized and started the match 0-3. However,he broke his opponent in 2 match points and came back to win 2-6, 7-5, 10-4. He went on to play in the finals at 5:30pm, losing 3-6, 5-7.
