After a scoreless first half, the Long Island Rough Riders took the lead in the 68th minute after Keith Detelj curled a right footed shot around a stranded Corey Richardson who had only replaced Tahj Bell in goal for Bermuda one minute earlier. Detelj scored again eleven minutes later to end the game 2-0.
The long Island Rough Riders ended their tour of Bermuda with a perfect 3 & 0 record. Their first match up with the Bermuda’s U20 team was on December 27 at Wellington Oval, and saw the visitors win 2-1. The Long Island Rough Riders also played a match against the Dandy Town Hornets, beating them 4-0.
The Long Island Rough Riders Team was founded in 1994, and the only soccer franchise on Long Island. Currently, the Rough Riders Men’s Team plays in the Premier Development League of the United Soccer Leagues.
