Former Premiers In Leadership Symposium
Two former Premiers will be among the panellists addressing the question of leadership in Bermuda at an upcoming symposium.
Sir John Swan and Alex Scott have accepted invitations from the Epsilon Theta Lambda Chapter (Bermuda) of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity [AΦA] which is hosting next month’s seminar to explore the topic of leadership and its relevance in Bermuda.
The symposium is intended to educate, promote and encourage dialogue within the community, said a spokesperson for the organisers. Listen to the audio promotion here
“The theme, centered on the ‘Relevance of Leadership in Bermuda’, will address a number of concerns within the educational, economical, political, religious, and sporting arenas. Is Bermuda going in the right direction?
“Are the leaders of our community listening to the needs of our people? Are the churches and spiritual communities doing enough? Does Bermuda develop and create good leaders and relevant leaders? These are just some of the questions that will be asked at the leadership symposium.”
Aside from Sir John and Mr. Scott, other confirmed panellists include former Bermuda Police Commissioner Jonathan Smith, Bermuda Democratic Alliance MP Shawn Crockwell, Digicel CEO Wayne Caines, businessman Corey Butterfield, Resseguros XL Brasil vice-president Gino Smith and political analyst and commentator Walton Brown.
The symposium is being held on Thursday, March 10 at 6:00pm at the Fairmount Southampton Amphitheatre. It is one of the featured events to be held during the AΦA’s 79th Eastern Regional Convention taking place in Bermuda from March 8-13.
