Minister Tours Airport Customs Facilities

MinistervisitscustomsMinister of National Security Wayne Perinchief visited LF Wade International Airport earlier this week to tour HM Customs facilities.

The Minister was accompanied by the Collector of Customs, Mrs. Winniefred Fostine-Desilva and the Assistant Collectors, Mr. William Pearman, Mrs. Lucinda Pearman and Mr. Tracy Kelly.

“As we prepare to fully implement a Department of Border Control, the interdictive and intelligence activities of HM Customs at LFW are critical to achieving the aim of safe and secure borders for Bermuda,” the Minister said.

He observed: “The men and women working at LFW were obviously well trained and the important role they play in keeping Bermuda safe was readily apparent.”

“We identified some areas where better information sharing would enhance their jobs and I committed to improving that aspect of matters.”

    Lets hope some money was spent on the enhancement of attitudes of Immigration officials especially to dwindling visitors & business people. I have heard stories of more courteous service being given from Immigration officials of the former Soviet Union.
