Photos: St George’s Olde Towne Market

May 15, 2011

Vendors and customers alike came out to the St. George’s Olde Towne Market this afternoon [May 15]. Water Street was filled with tables, with local vendors out selling items including Bermuda books, a wide variety of jewelry, clothing, handmade cards, mini gombeys, dolls, fresh baked goods, handbags and more.

The Olde Towne Market launched on Halloween last year, and is now in its second season. It is a joint venture between local businesses, the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, the Corporation of St.George’s and the EEZA.

I love this, I’m in UK right now and I see street markets all over offering a variety of goods and produce cheaper than the supermarkets. People from every corner of the world: Arabic, British, French, Lebanese, Jamaican, Italian, Chinese etc. I look forward to coming home and seeing this initiative in Bermuda.
