Boat Diverts: Crew Member Injures Eye

This past Saturday [June 25], Bermuda radio received a report from the agents acting for the 78,918 gross ton M/T Cosmic advising she was diverting to Bermuda to disembark a 51-year-old second engineer who had suffered an injury to his left eye.

At 3:17 pm. the vessel rendezvoused with the pilot cutter St.George at the deep draft position, approximately 3.1 nautical miles east of St.David’s Lighthouse, where the transfer took place.

Once ashore at Ordnance Island in St George’s, the patient was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, while M/T Cosmic continued on her voyage from Bonny, Nigeria to Philadelphia, USA.
