Police: Driver Of Flipped Car Left Scene
The Police have confirmed that the driver of the car which crashed and flipped over on Saturday night [June 25] “left the scene prior to the attending officers”. The accident occurred on Tee Street in Devonshire near the junction with Berry Hill Road, with the driver smashing into a wall before the car overturned.
Police describe the driver of the vehicle as an approximately 6’ tall black male in his 20s wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. This is the second time this year a driver has left the scene after an accident which left a car upside down, following an accident on Harrington Sound Road in January.

It is a blessing that no one else was injured. And what do the owners of these vehicles say when they are questioned?? Maybe the drivers are drunk and do not want to get caught, but somebody needs to be held accountable. And please don’t respond with ‘the car was stolen’.
SMH!!!
DUI + (D)merits = I’ll be off de road! I aink hangin’ round hur
You’re not going to leave the scene if it was just a random accident. I’m guessing, more than likely warrants and/or DUI and/or possession of a controlled substance, and quite possibly even a gun. I, as a 25 year old male have also flipped a car, however, I waited for the police and fire service to arrive as I had nothing to hide from them…
out of interest – did you flip the car in Bermuda and if yes, was your license taken away and if not, do you think it should have. Only way to flip a car in residential areas is by speeding
Yea I flipped the car on Harbour Road. No, my license wasn’t taken away though, I think it would have been a bit harsh to take my license away, although if they did, I guess I couldn’t have complained. But your absolutely right, I was speeding.
jonny boy! all that got to happen is gey your car in the right angle and even at 35 it can be fliped. it not going to flip on a flat surface. all it takes is a curb or some un even surface. it almost happened to me.minding you i was kinda of distracted with some of these things that go out walking on the evenings
I am sure they will be making a visit to whomever owns the car to find out if the owner was driving it or if someone else was. At that point “hopefuly” they will request a drug test. Either way, the owner of the vehicle will ultimately be charged…
Oh whaaaaat,
how come GUYZ r gettin vexed at this bedren 4 flippin his car? Wut if he did it on purpose n then just felt like walkin home afterwards cuz he had eaten a MASSIVE greeze n needed 2 get sum exercise??? DID U EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT, PPL??? OR DID U JUST RUSH STR8 TO JUDGIN HIM???
My ace chicken Fertile-Pores said that back n de day, guyz in Bermy flipped there cars on purpose all d time just 4 de heck of it, n de police dineen care cuz they wuz doin it themselves. it wuz so normal that guyz wuld b like “AY AUNTIE, um goin up aberfeldy to get sum clay pots 4 my granny…u mind if I take ya car, then flip it n destroy it compleetly 4 no reason?!?” n ya auntie would be like “OF COURSE, DUN, why would u even ax me such an obvious question?” n then youd be like “SAFE, auntie, ya de guy!”
If guyz keep being prejudiced towards guyz 4 flippin dere cars n leavin the scene, n sayin its “against de law” (wut a joke), den anotha beautiful Bermudian tradition will be lost in bureaucratic dopeyness. I commend this brave bredren 4 jus livin his life and exercising his rite 2 flip his car, even tho shus against de social norm.
WAKE UP PPL, POLITICAL CORRECTNESS WILL B D DEATH OF US ALL!!
Ok, this is getting boring.
And people wonder why they aren’t taken seriously! @ Clafe: the overuse of slang is honestly rather annoying. Plain English would make your points a lot more effective to readers.
Clafe, you are hilarious! Keep’em coming! LOL!!
lol.. he isnt intending to be taken seriously..
@Seriously?
I agree…the sad part is, I think Clafe IS being serious, and is just genuinely an idiot who can’t spell and jumps to moronic conclusions about each article he posts to without thinking.
He is clearly a product of our atrocious education system, and should be ashamed of his unhelpful comments. His friends and relatives also have extremely bizarre names, which make me wonder about the conditions under which he was raised, and whether he is mentally stable.
@ A/K It’s hard to tell , but surely your post is intended to be as big a spoof as Clafe’s ….
It’s obviously a joke, and is very funny.
You really are over-reacting, which I also find quite amusing.
Just imagine if 50% or more of people are like you, then there is no hope for this country
I thought Terry was bad enough now we have this joker to contend with!
Nah, Clafe IS funny . It’s dat Terry bye who needs to sharpen his skillz. WAKE UP PPL.
hahahaha!
LOL “of course dun”………… “safe auntie, ya de guy!”
Ya not well, whoever you are
Obviously Clafe is joking IDIOTS!!! Loosen up a bit. He’s just making light of the situation. Clafe, keep makin’ me laugh bie…..u make my day
Clafe is hilarious!!!
LOL…and that is all.
Did the guy take the licence plates with him so that it’s impossible to find out who owns the car and what he/she has to say about it???
One night wiff his machine
Engine soundin’ mean
He let her lick
Proceeded to flip
And promptly left the scene
Lol @ clafe and people’s poet… I love it!

There were some areas on Bermuda’s roads where you can roll a car without speeding.
I have attended dozens of rolled/flipped cars accidents and can attest that speed was not always a factor but falling asleep, inattention and DUI coupled with side of the road conditions at fault which normally include a very low wall or a rapidly rising bank.
Two areas that readily come to mind are going up Crawl Hill close to the club. I attended a few car flips in the same location there and the other was near Church Bay. So speed is not always a cause as other factors like the aforementioned side or the road layout/obstacles.
Which gets the bigger fine, DUI or leaving the scene of an accident?
Cue the “my car was taken without my consent”
This IS getting old.
