Patrick Nisbett To Compete In Italy

The fifteenth annual San Patrignano 5*CSI starts this Friday in Italy, and Bermudian equestrian Patrick Nisbett will be among the 52 competitors representing 18 different nations.

A plethora of top riders are set to start in this Rolex-sponsored event, a total of fifty two competitors, on 130 horses, representing eighteen nations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Spain, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Holland, Portugal, Russia, the United States, Switzerland, Sweden, the Ukraine and of course Bermuda.

Some of the highest ranked riders in the world will compete in the nine classes over the three days, including the current number one and reigning Olympic champion, Eric Lamaze, Australia’s Edwina Alexander (n°9), Germany’s legendary Ludger Beerbaum (n°11). The Dutch team currently dominating the Superleague will be present in full: Jeroem Dubbeldam, Gerco Schröder, Eric van der Vleuten and Marc Houtzager.

The riders will vie for a total of 380,000 euro [$540,000] in prize money.
