‘Are you serious’ is your average bermudian ‘observer’ that doesn’t have a life. The type of person that would send round forward to as who got shot n stuff type person go to ya funeral jus to gossip about what they saw it to much of that in Bermuda! Wa bout the good stuff??

  11. @Stun_Don says:

    And its Rest In Peace!!!!!

    • Are you serious says:

      Stun Don,

Thanks for the correction. I’m just asking a serious questions. I see how everyone says RIP? Something to think about?

  12. sam montain says:

Its a Bermudian problem that is not going away until we legalize drugs. How long can u people support this crap that these governments feed you how many have to die? Weed is almost a 1000 dollars an ounce. Its worth more than gold.Wake the hell up. How many of your children are you willing to send to jail.Live in your bubble and let them pass harsher laws .The other day they pasted a law to steal peoples money. They tell u put your money in a broke bank. Educate yourselves.War on drugs is unwinnable that is what the UN said.Keep on this track and you better go shopping for body bags.I hope the family can find there way though this nightmare.Im sorry for your loss.

    • wondering says:

legalize drugs and continue to kill ourselves….educate ourselves? we sold ourselves into slavery almost 500 years ago to a bunch of explorers for the price of eternity.

we continue to do it today despite our educational advances and having had the first university on earth.

we continue the slavery by the gun and by the spliff, deck, line, etc. educate yourself Bedrmuda is right and protect yourselves from each other. the “poor” man has “no other option” but to indulge in drugs and nefarious activity – who put it in their face – the devil? we have a choice and we can choose good over evil but alas we don’t and come up with lame excuses like LEGALIZE IT! the man that sung that song died of what?

let the man’s family be comforted without some crap about legalize it!

      • whistling Frog says:

@ wondering: Who do you think is running the country? Educated fools who come back from some well known collage or university after paying thousands of dollars to hang some piece of paper in a frame to their qualified to commence screwing up where the last educated fool left off… You don’t need a degree for common scene.

      • Think about it says:

Thank you, I couldn’t have said it better.

    • ffs says:

Oh comeon. Again with the drug talk you stupid a$$ hippy. get lost.

    • Emeka47 says:

OMG!!! Sam Mountain….So you think not legalizing drugs is the reason for murdering people. Trying to explan and justify the cost of ‘weed’ just aint cutting it! whether it’s legal or not, these types of crime will never go away. There are territorial gang wars and drug wars between the same people and they are killing each other, for what!! I am not judging the person who died, but you brought this into the discussion. The ‘legal’ use of drugs will not resolve the crime associated with it. Those who are making the money will find other ways of control. It is not the small man in the street, it’s the ones at the top who have the money finance this STUFF!!! Do you really think they are going to let this lucrative business end!! Get your head out of the sand or should I say, get the ‘weed’ out of your head and stop trying to justify your need!

    • Thank says:

Are you stupid? Gold is 1700 an ounce. Which by my maths does not make weed more expensive. Fool. Drugs mess up your brain and make you naive. Also this news article has nothing to do with drugs you dope fiend.

    • bb straight face says:

HONESTY SHUT UP…SHUT THE HECK UP…

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! IF YOU WANT SOME SOCIAL COMMENTARY ON LEGALIZING WEED RIGHT A DAMB LETTER TO THE EDITOR OR SOMETHING….

THIS BOY IS DEAD AND IN YOUR DELUDED STATE YOU COME UP WITH THIS RETORIC TO COMMENT ON THIS STORY…

YOU LOT ARE NOT HELPING THE CAUSE BY SOUNDING SO STUPID AND IGNORANT HONESTLY…

GET A LIFE AND POP A GINKGO BIOLBA PILL…KMT

      • a bermudian says:

“sounding so stupid and ignorant” ….says the one who just typed in caps. cute.

    • Young Bermudian says:

      Sam Mountain,

I honestly beliee in legalizing drug, but I also honestly believe that it is not the right time at the moment. You are correct by connecting drugs with these crimes because it does finance these young guys to act out. But if you really think about it, if these guys aren’t able to finance their lifestyles by selling drugs, they are going to finance it another way like extortion or more violent robberies. Legalizing weed cannot change the fact that these gang members already have access to guns. It cannot change the mentality of these guys going out and obtaining lawful employment. I truly believe that at the moment drugs are helping fuel are economy. Like it or not it is the truth. Most of these guys cannot invest their money, so therfore they spend it on products or services offered in Bermuda. I honestly believe drugs should be legal, but I believe Bermuda needs to rectify some core problems before doing so.

    • In General says:

Just to clarify an ounce of gold is currently priced at $1700.

    • Bulla Bulla says:

I get what you are trying to say but fyi…gold = $ 1,709.83 per oz as of today.

    • Think about it says:

You weed heads look for any excuse to push your “Make weed legal” agenda. Take a damn break.

    • truth says:

And which intelligent people did you get your information from? No smart person in his right mind will legalize drugs,in this climate. It is smoking drugs and a lack of education that is causing the majority of this violent mindset in bermuda and everytime one of you guys come on one of these website and state LEGALIZE you just continue to prove my point and others of just how stupid those comments are.
You have nothing to back up your claims it is one of the stupidest things a Bermudian can say after all these deaths and shootings coming on here and say you know what will fix the problem, lets make drugs legal, that will make us smarter and better productive in out cummunity.
PLEASE keep your ignorant comments to yourself it’s insulting and daft.People may think that all bermudians think like that, open a BOOK and educate yourself instead of smoking ur brains out and you guys may learn something

      • Ganja mon says:

actually alcohol is the real reason for violence in Bermuda. Smoking drugs? That doesn’t even make sense. The worst drugs can’t even be smoked, smh. Herion is sniffed or applied to veins via needle. People like you make it like weed is causing violence when its the last drug that someone violent will be on…

      • Thank says:

        So True.

  13. get out of bermy!! says:

listen 2 u stupid ass Bermudians….lmao….who needs a TV when u can just cum on Bernews n read FOOLS IN ACTION!! give thanks im not a Bermudian.

    • Bermudians jus Talk says:

And for the Non-Bermudians who like talkn sh%t,u can always GO BACK where u CAME fromI blame U 4 the change in Bermudian Mentality,Give up ya JoB that a Bermudian can have.At least u can Leave most of us will have 2 stay. How much do u get TAXED for all the $$$$$ you have taken out the country all these years??

      • I gotta be me says:

        You are xenophobic and stupid.

      • Think about it says:

Wow you’re stupid. I don’t know about you, but I can’t remember the last time I’ve heard a Bermudian say they want to wait tables, cut grass, or clean up other peoples sh*t for a living. So when these people leave, who is going to take their place?

    • Young Bermudian says:

I’m sorry but I take extreme offence by you calling Bermudians fools when you are stating comments about Bermuda. If you are an expat who is presently residing here because you have been hired to perform a job, then you are currently here because of us fools who gave you the opportunity to work here. We could have easily denied a work permit. I honestly respect expat’s opinions because it provides a different perspective, but I will not be called a fool by someone who is in my country profitting from my country’s services. I may say we are fools for actually giving someone like you a work permit in the first place. If you are here because you are married to a Bermudian, then you are calling your spouse a fool, which then you would need to move to your own country to live and leave us fools alone. And if you are someone who doesn’t live here at all then shut up and just leave our island alone! Because whatever nationality you are I’m sure that we can observe some foolish actions or comments also.

      • get out of bermy!! says:

        u r all fools u allowed me 2 cum there n make my ” MILLIONS ” n leave…lmao!

        • Notorious says:

          “MILLIONS”…yeah…I bet.

        • .am says:

I doubt anyone with your apparent lack of education and complete disregard for the English language is making ‘millions’.

  14. Bwermp Bermp says:

Make Haste !! Send your boys and young men out of the devils isle before it’s to Late …

    • get out of bermy!! says:

there so stuck on STUPID there not gona listen 2 u… iv allready tryed 2 tell m that!!

  15. The Architect says:

    Wow. Man the lifeboats. Again.

  16. Bermudians jus Talk says:

Bermudians r straved for entertainment! check the body count, from wen it all started 2 NOW!!!We hav had innocent ppl slain. Its like a big joke 2 most ppl UNTIL it hits home.Thks n Praise 4 life!!!!They cant blow breath, but wanna take life.

  17. Young Bemudian says:

    - Why do certain people feel the need to make other comments that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the subject on hand. Something has got to give in Bermuda, Do the police not think its weird that his body was found in the same place as a so called “Road Fatality” and his bike was there, they said that at the previous accident the whole scene was suspicious.

How could you even think about it being a road fatality, did they state in the article that his bike was the least bit messed up? No!! At some point BPS is doinig a good job and then other times they aren’t. I understand forensics may take a while, and that some Bermudians are scared to speak up if they know something. But we have to do something. & why is everyone so Negative about everything. If we don’t keep our heads up and have some type of hope. Whose gonna do it for us.?? No One.

All I know is that I’ve lost various family and friends to this nonsense, & I just lost another one. Hopefully, they can catch this person before they do something else. I Love my island, but whats happening, Im not feeling it. & im sure everyone else feels the same; We need help Bermuda….

    • Nae says:

@Young Bermudian – much respect; alot of points being made & alot of nonsense. You seem intuned – stay positive, you’re not alone! Any life is sad to see gone my someone & others well …. respect is given and displayed very differently. I’d say just hope for better – do what you can but remain true to yaself ;)
      Hard times :(

  18. @Stun_Don says:

‘Get out of Bermy’ do us a favor n get out of bermy we don’t need no foreigners takin up space as it is let alone yaself go find something to do n leave bermudas problems 2 b dealt wit by bermudians ! So pack ya sh%t n get on the next plane out hypocrite! Ya been here so long u acting like a dopey bermudian

  19. Dill says:

The Family of this young man have my condolences.

People (not pointing a finger at anyone in particular), please be mindful of others and this young man’s family when making comments….sometimes they are hurtful when not intended to be.

    Have a Great Day Everyone!!!!

  20. Desparate PLEA says:

A desparate plea….to Mothers and Fathers of young black males in Bermuda….my heart is heavy right now although I do not know this young man personally. But I share the pain of his families loss. My condolences to you all. Parents our sons of Bermuda need us desparately…I pleading with the parents of young black males…get your sons off this island. Enroll them in a program that is conducive to their success. Exhaust all avenues.Somewhere along the road they will find their way. No its not gonna be easy but it will be worth it. You might save your childs life. None of our them are safe in this country. Good or Bad!! Get them out of this island. Mothers it time to put down the nails, clothes, men and the hair appts and invest the money in saving the life of your young men. Fathers it time to put away the fancy cars, the women, the drugs and alchohol, put in quality time and step up to the plate and take your role in your children’s life. We have an exodus of black males heading straight casemates or six feet under. So I plead with parents to get your young black males off this island by any means necessary. Do you not see the trend?? Get them out!!.The government is at an impasse and do not have a definitive plan on how to protect our young black males. Do you hear anybody talking about a plan? Neither do I? We are in a sorry state as a country.

    • Nae says:

hmmm its so sad whats become…

    • Two Sides says:

Desparate Plea you said it all but you must remember the Goverment can’t do every thing we must take our children and make something out of them stop buying them new gear for evey holiday and save for an education out of this island . Stop trying to be their freind and not their mother and father they have too many so called friends that will lead them into troble and leave them ther. Lets get back our old Bermuda when we did’nt have a lot of money but we had each other .
My preyers are with this poor boys family may God be with you all

All the ppls sayin O well um glad um not bermudian the best thing for you do is LEAVE we don’t need you the jobs u take up can go 2 some1 else keep wa u have 2 say 4 the country u r from n get off this “Bermudian” site u Non fuggin factor people!

    • get out of bermy!! says:

    • ffs says:

i wanted to come back..and i did..i love this island, its still home and just like EVERYWHERE else in the world it has problems, and our problems will be sorted out in due time..its called Darrells Island, a firearm a piece for each gang member and 2-3 rounds of ammunition..then lets see what they manage

  22. john says:

these lot dont know how to act when entertainment is provided
they tear up clubs, fight at games,,, me an my girl had to crawl ot of this club on our hands and knees one time cause guys were throwing bottles at each other some guys one one side of the dance floor and guys on the other throwing bottles at each other,,

  23. john says:

cant even go out and enjoy my beer in the bottle no more
    bredrens know wat im saying..

  24. john says:

y? u fools dont wana work

  25. john says:

to proud to do the dirty work
    and your friends see you

    • honesty says:

agreed!!! lol i could hear some of my friends back in highschool now complaining about not wanting to cut grass, make pizza, do construction, waitress etc. Come to think, i can’t even remember the last time i called upper crust and could actually understand the person on the other end

  26. john says:

dont even like your own language, wana talk or be jamacian or american,,, funny

    • Notorious says:

Are you done yet? It’s funny how you foreigners come on bernews to leave rude comments but your dumbasses came to Bermuda willingly. What’s worse locals not leaving their home or idiots willingly coming to a place they claim is so bad? You aren’t even brave enough to post your full (real)name, if you hate it so much you’d have no problem doing that but you know your ass would be sent packing back home. Btw how does a Bermudian try and talk American? Jamaican I can understand but American too? lol

      • Think about it says:

I actually agree with what John is saying, and you know if a Bermudian was saying it, you wouldn’t be as upset as you are. Bermudians don’t want to do the jobs that foreigners do, they don’t know how to act when they go out and they do follow one of the most ignorant cultures (Jamaican) and live like it is their own.

        • Notorious says:

I’m not upset at all. Did you see me address those parts in my previous post? No. I didn’t say that it wasn’t true I said why come here if you know that? I can see how they try and be like Jamaicans and I’ve said that many times before on here. But I thought Bermudians and Americans spoke the same language? lol We have a natural accent which is different. I was talking about the fact that he knows that but willingly came here to live. He should be criticizing himself, instead he is criticizing people who had no choice and were BORN here. “What’s worse locals not leaving their home or idiots willingly coming to a place they claim is so bad?”. We were born here, what’s his excuse other than utter stupidity? Not everyone can up and leave. That’s like moving to Afghanistan and then complaining about the bombs. Crime is everywhere, there are good and bad things about every country in this world but Bermuda is a lot better off than other countries also. It can’t be that bad if he came here in the first place.

        • Changing Status says:

          agreed.

  27. anonymous says:

    SAD!!!

  28. anonymous says:

Again people, it’s not about drugs, nationality or none of that crap….it’s about another mother losing another young son. My heart goes out.

  29. Nae says:

It hurts to hear the negative on our island, but its the truth! Maybe it would be more appreciated if not put in a disrespectful way but look at what we are, what we’ve become. We all need to work together in hopes of positive rewards rather then continuos downs. In any space there is negative – but its what you make of it. Are you going to add to the fire of destruction or help put it out?

  30. @Stun_Don says:

John u got it all twisted u ain from bermuda glad u ain bermudian but u worrying bout bermuda issues sounds like u have a problem within gettin accepted in life! Its not easy jus b yaself if you know how 2! Any1 talkin down on Bermuda needs 2 lay down or leave ya comments on boremeless.bm cuz no 1 gives a crap bout no foreigners point of view! U guys say ya made millions but ya still putting ya nose in dumb stuff typical bermudian if u ask me !

  31. Changing Status says:

this is disgusting to read, shame on the majorty of you on here. talking about weed, gold, drugs, gangs, jobs. a young man has DIED in the prime of his life, have you already forgotten?! show some respect and carry these conversations elsewhere!!

my condolences to the family and friends. x

  32. sick n tired!!!!! says:

Ok . . . as a Bermudian we all have the right to get upset about the blatant comments being made by foreignors . . . but let’s be for real … it’s the truth as sad as it may be. They do come here make their money and go back; put their children in school, get an education and when they’ve made enough they leave!!!!! Point blank, don’t get mad at them, let’s look at our position . . . we have uneducated frustrated and angry black men coming out of high school with no alternatives . . . parents who know their boys are out there hustling and accept it like it’s okay . . .we have gangs that we have chosen to ignore until it’s at a point of emergency . . .and fathers whoare not standing up and taking their place in society!!!!! So, yes, as hard as it may seem we do look like DUMB ASS Bermudians, because these problems are ours not theirs. When the sh^* hits the fan, believe they will hit the rubber and run for the border. Where are we going . . . absolutely no where!!!!

  33. CAT says:

I really wish Bernews wouldn’t post comments that do not pertain to the topic…a young man has lost his life for crying out loud!!! Its so sad how drugs and race have to come up in every friggin story! RIP young man!

    • Stacey says:

Totally agree; people need to understand that there is a time and a place for everything. This is not the time NOR place. -_____-. R.I.P. Jahmeiko

  34. talk de ting says:

if ya a rude lil shit than badness is gonna get u!im sure they aint thinkin bout their family wen theyre running being a pain in de asses! they harassin de whole island n i should feel sry! no i feel sry for my kids dats gotta witness this cramp! put dem in cages n let dem kill each other but no wait dats not gonna work cause wen they r locked up they sit down n play cards n checkers! but on de street they wanna kill each other! some hell!!!!

  35. MWAH says:

My condolences to the Perkins family. Your in my prays!

  36. Enough is Enough says:

This is so ridiculous, I am sure that you ALl are grown ass adults commenting under this young mans sad and horrific story. It is rather pathetic as to how negative and heartless your comments are. This is a young life that has been ended well to soon and you people talking about sh!t that doesn’t have anything to do with Mr. Perkins’ story. Stop being so disrespectful and mindless this young mans family and friends are reading these post. I feel as, if you really don’t care about this young man n his family than you need not comment especially without giving your condolences. My heart is heavy and it goes out to the family, you have my deepest sympathy may God be with you at this time of need!

  37. Stephen says:

May I suggest people simply ignore the comments they find distasteful or purely ignorant for they are many that I can see. If possible just read the posts that warrant reading and make sense.

  38. thank you! says:

    God dont like ugly!
Rest in peace to the person you use to be until you turnt into the monster you was before ya life got taking!

  39. Mom of Teenager says:

There are many comments relating to the death of this young man that simply don’t require a response. Don’t rise to the bait – some are simply not worthy of a comment.

I hope to never experience receiving a call to tell me that my son is dead in these (or any circumstances). This young man’s death is waste of a young life. On this I can only sympathise with the loved ones he left behind.

We need to work to prevent rather than waiting for these problems to manifest themselves. Easier said then done – I know. I have kids. We need to work damn hard to ensure that our kids realise an opportunity when they have been given one and impress upon them that if they spunk an opportunity it will be THEIR (not the parents’)opportunity that they have thrown away.

“All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.” From A Little Book of Happiness

    Stay positive.

  40. So Sad says:

Rest In Peace young man. To the family you have my condolence.

  41. water says:

    Rest In Peace
regardless of his past, he didnt deserve to die in a ditch.
so sad so many of these comments are so selfish.

    bermuda come on………

  42. Rock On says:

Unfortuantely it is sad to say but if you guys know this young man, you would be singing a different tune. Condolences anyhow to his family. I do sincerely hope that he rest is peace

  43. Whoa Nelly says:

regardless of his lifestyle he was loved by someone…..and my heart goes out to those that did….my condolences to his family and what ever friends he may have had…….

    Matthew:7:1-5

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

  44. Bermuda is truely another world..... says:

Wow…so unfortunate another young life taken. My humble condolences to the family and friends.

This will continue sadly until you uninvolved/disillusioned parents take control of your sons (and daughters) stop being scared of your own offspring – you brought them into this world, take them out! Its your responsiblility not the gov’t, but instead they are taking each other out one by one. Poor parenting is the cause of all this bullsh*t. Truth be told. Kids get away with so much these days cause parents aren’t parenting.

I pray everyday this does not hit home, we were raised right but have to travel this island with people that don’t know right from wrong. This madness is a crying shame. Too many parents have failed and ya still producing – irresponsible fools!!!!

    • Bermuda is truely another world..... says:

For the record I don’t have kids and would not be responsible for raising my own in a world now filled with so many DEVILS…people’s morals and values are so twisted these days..sign of the times. RIP – Fu*k I wanna LIVE IN PEACE!

    • Mom of Teenager says:

Unfortunately many parents wait too long to try to parent. Parents need to start from day one…. and not wait until the child is a teenager and full of “stupid rage”. Unfortunately, many don’t recognise this until they are down a path they don’t know how (or want) to change. We also walk around with the not-my-son blinkered syndrome.

We need to clean up our backyards or continue to produce angry kids. This includes having a minimum standard of behaviour. Our kids need to be taught how to “act right”.

We also need to keep personal drama out of parenting and put on a united front whether we are with bb daddy or momma or not. Get it together folks…. we don’t need London/Philadelphia happening here!
