The Bermuda Police Service responded to two collisions on the island’s roads yesterday [Jan. 11]

Around 5pm on Wednesday, police and first responders attended a reported collision in the area of Middle Road in Warwick, near the junction with Morgan Road.

It appears that a car and a motorcycle were travelling along Middle Road when they collided.

A police spokesman said the rider of the motorcycle, a 40-year-old Southampton man, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

However, his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car, a 55-year-old Devonshire man was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

And at around 7pm on Wednesday police were called to a collision on Somerset Road in Sandys near the junction with Scott’s Hill Road.

“It appears that two motorcycles were travelling along Somerset Road when they collided,” said a police spokesman. “Both riders sustained relatively minor injuries. One of the riders, a 27-year-old Southampton man, was treated at hospital and later released.

“It is unclear whether the other rider, a 19-year-old Sandys woman, sustained injuries that required hospital treatment.”
