Results: 2012 May 24th Fitted Dinghy Races

Bermuda Day is the traditional opening day of the Fitted Dinghy season, and the 2012 Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Racing Season got underway today [May 24] in the St George’s Harbour.

Contest III skippered by Somers Kempe won all three races of the day, while Challenger II finished second twice and Elizabeth II finished second in the final race of the day.

Kemp sailed Contest III out of the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club to victory in the Heritage Trophy, Anniversary Cup and the Leon D. Fox Cup.

Sandys Boat Club’s Challenger II skippered by Martin Seise finished second in the Heritage Trophy and Anniversary Cup races, they finished 4th in the Leon D. Fox Cup race.

Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club’s Elizabeth II skipper Gareth Williams sailed to a third place finish in the Heritage Trophy and Anniversary Cup races, St. George’s Dinghy and Sports Club’s Victory IV with mark Soares at the helm finished 4th in the Heritage Trophy and Anniversary Cup, they then finished third in the Leon D. Fox Cup.
