Schaler Films Series of Bermuda Travel Videos
The hospitality, beauty and charm of Bermuda were recently captured in a succession of 10 tourism-related online videos created by Emmy Award-winning lifestyle travel journalist Karen Schaler [pictured].
The videos were filmed during Ms Schaler’s recent seven-day trip to the island hosted by the Department of Tourism. Each video gives travelers an overview of a particular aspect of the destination including tips on where to stay, what to eat and what to do.
In addition to airing on her own site [traveltherapytrips.com] as well video channels such as YouTube [link], a channel on BLIP.TV [link], and a channel on Blinkx.com [link], the BDOT said Ms Schaler’s videos will air via AOL on top travel websites such as HuffingtonPost.com [link].
Ten components of the island were featured in the segments, and special features were produced on Schaler’s host properties; Elbow Beach and Rosewood Tucker’s Point. Segments include: Destination Overview, Individual Hotel Feature: Rosewood Tucker’s Point, Individual Hotel Feature: Elbow Beach, Roundup of Medium Hotel Properties, Best Beaches, Culinary Scene, St. George’s Feature, Golf, Spa Roundup and Top Beach Bars/Restaurants
“Ms. Schaler is one of the most knowledgeable travel professionals in her field,” said Minister of Business Development and Tourism Wayne Furbert. “Her work and syndication in top-tier North American outlets will provide exposure for our island and reflect not only the beauty and diversity of our tourism product, but also the outstanding quality we have to offer here.”
Ms Schaler authored a book entitled “Travel Therapy – Where Do You Need to Go”, serving as a travel guide to more than 100 inspiring destinations around the world.
A quick look at the Youtube channel indicates the Bermuda videos have not been widely viewed thus far, with the view counts on the Bermuda videos ranging from 4 to 20 views over the past two weeks.

I very much enjoyed highlighting Bermuda in the 10 Travel Therapy videos! This island and its people are truly special and there’s an inspiring and empowering travel experience around every corner. Everytime I shot one video I got ideas for five more. The videos are already getting several hundreds of views on Blip.TV, Blinkx and AOL, the focus on the sydnication, and have already been featured on Reader’s Digest, AOL Travel, Huffington Post, Dailymotion and even the NASDAQ website!
