Prisoner Pleads Not Guilty To Drug Possession

June 8, 2012

jakai-harford-faceGarbed in a prison sweat-suit with a big E stenciled on the front, 29-year-old Jakai Harford stood in Magistrates Court this morning [June 8] and pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing an illegal drug in an Increased Penalty Zone – namely Westgate Correctional Facility.

The charge alleged that Mr Harford had the illegal drug cannabis in his possession while he was inside the prison facility on 27th September 2011.

Senior Magistrate Archie Warner set Harford’s trial for 28th September 2012; a full year after the offence was alleged to have been committed.

As a legal formality, the Magistrate also remanded Harford into custody until his September trial on this drugs possession matter.

More taxpayers dollars wasted and more court time wasted for this STUPIDITY! Are you really telling me that they couldn’t punish this guy in some other way that wouldn’t cost taxpayers ANYTHING!Ya gonna waste gas by bringing this guy all the way town and back to Westgate and then on top of that once you get town ya gonna waste the courts time just for getting caught with some weed! And guess what the funny part is! “He got caught with weed in JAIL!” So deal with that up there! Make the guy pick up trash or clean thhe bathroom or lock him down for a couple of days.Take away his cell phone and playstation even! But DON’T be an IDIOT (not the word i really wanna use) and waste people’s time for this IGNORANCE! I really believe that the people responsible for ENTERTAINING this stupidy must be the ones smoking the weed with him!
