Flyers Track Club Medal At U.S. Track Meet
The Flyers Track Club traveling with a small team of 7 athletes, have returned from a successful performance at a US track meet capturing several medals.
Spokesperson Donna Watson said, “They performed well and represented themselves well. With the small team they still were able to place in the rankings table with the Youth Boys 9th our of 27 teams, Youth Girls 9th out of 29 teams, Bantam Boys 4th out of 25 teams, Midget Girls 8th out of 29.
“The athletes were accompanied by 2 youth coaches our junior athletes Dage Minors and Darico Clarke.
“The individual performances included:
Messiah Greaves Midget Girls :-
2nd 3000m, 2nd 1500m, 5th 800m
Izaiah Tucker Bantam Boys:-
2nd 1500m
Robert Thomas Bantam Boys:-
3rd 1500m, 5th 800m
Quinnae Outerbridge Youth Girls:-
2nd 1500m, 3rd 800m
Azariah Robinson Youth Girls:-
6th 800m
Micaiah Robinson Youth Boys:-
2nd 1500m, 1st 800m, 2nd 400m
Jeremiah Steede Intermediate Boys:-
8th 800m
“When I look at the overall performances of all of our youth athletes who participated in the East Coast track meet there is a great future in Track & Field. We have Kyrah Scraders, Justin Donawa, Juma Mouchette who continually perform and place in the top 3 in every International track meet they compete in.
“The future is really looking bright for this sport and I am very encouraged when I see these athletes these performances and see several of our clubs taking the initiative and making sure their athletes are getting the overseas exposure to track meets to prepare them for the big stage.”
