Videos: ‘Dancing’ BHS Teachers Surprise Students

July 1, 2012

Under the guise of interviewing students for a BHS video, the Advancement Office of The Bermuda High School instead created a video of some of the school’s teachers sneaking up behind students and dancing, known online as  ’video-bombing’.

The video was shown in the school’s final assembly for the year. The aim of the video was not only for some lighthearted end-of-school-year fun, but to also show the students that teachers do have a fun side.

Now if this was a public school, that school and their teachers would be raked over the coals for unprofessionalism, lack of teaching etc. You have to love the double standards…..I can now see clearly why parents pay over $18,000 a year in tuition for their kids to attend …..Clearly worth every penny for dancing teachers!

    • give me a break says:

you do know the per capita cost is $20,000+ (that means per child, in case you don’t know what ‘per capita’ means… you seem ignorant so i thought that might help you) in the GOVERNMENT system, RIGHT? there are no double standards being exploited here…. just a sense of fun and end of year spirit…. lighten up frances, and get a clue! i notice you didn’t mention the other end of year video that warwick academy made….. have fun watching that one – warwickacad on youtube.com…. it’s very well done also….. might be a little light-hearted for you though.

    • Mad Dawg says:

Where do you get the $18,000 a year number from? Made up out of thin air?

      • Observant says:

Not exactly a secret…it’s on their website.

      • WOW says:

It’s on their website…..feel free to check it out. It’s actually more that $18,000

    • eh hem says:

Based on GCSE results, It actually looks like the parents are seeing a major return on their investment in their children’s future. just sayin…

  2. hahahahahahaha says:

  3. Lighten up says:

  4. Upsetting says:

Oh, stop, that was awesome, i loved it, you go teachers…..and yea my son goes public school….

It’s all about the year end, and fun..great video

  5. Lighten up says:

I thought this was excellent, well done BHS, what a way to end the school year. To WOW if you have a problem with this then somewthing is seriously wrong with you. The world is stressful enough as it is. I don’t see anything wrong with the teachers having a bit of fun, I’m sure by year end all the official school business, teaching assignments, testing of students should all be done. Being a teacher is stressful enough and this is a good way for them to relieve some of that stress. I say again “WELL DONE”

  6. summer lover says:

ugh! Lighten up, Wow! I think this was fun and shows that teachers aren’t people ‘who live under the stairs’. Besides, BHS is second to none; no other school can hold a candle to them!

  7. aww says:

that was soo exciting wish my school did something fun like that! that was really nice

  8. Hudson says:

The school has demonstrated outstanding results year after year, consistently producing well-rounded and confident girls – and at the end of the day, that is what an education is about. All this shows is some year end fun for an end of year assembly that was never intended to go viral… People need to lighten up and see it for what it is. Great teachers having some fun and a student body that loves them for it! Some of the other schools can learn from this and think outside the box a little. Two thumbs up for BHS, their great teachers and fantastic students!

  9. Beacon says:

    Excellent!

  10. William says:

    Nice! lol

  11. kiskadee says:

Since BHS has the best results on the island I guess the teachers can dance for joy at the end of each year. A really fun video—thank you for brightening my day.

  12. Honestly says:

I as a teacher knows that this is fun to do in front of students. Their faces are full of shock and surprised I love to do it! Couldnt see video though!
