Bermuda’s terrain is being hailed as one of the most beautiful race courses in all of triathlon, the organizers of the Toyota SheROX Triathlon Series said as they gear up to host the third annual SheROX Bermuda Triathlon on November 4th 2012.
This year’s event which is sponsored by the Bermuda Department of Tourism [BDOT], will once again take place at the Fairmont Southampton.

Minister of Business Development and Tourism Wayne Furbert said, “Bermuda will once again be at the forefront of the triathlon world as we welcome back the Toyota SheROX Triathlon.
“Partnering with such a great organization truly enhances the profile of Bermuda’s sport tourism. We hope all of the athletes and their guests enjoy their time in Bermuda and we wish them the best of luck on race day.”
And Barb McKeever, Toyota SheROX Series Director said, “There is no better way to conclude your race season than to race in paradise at the Toyota SheROX Bermuda Triathlon.
“Over the last three years, SheROX Bermuda has become THE destination race for hundreds of women as a girls’ weekend, family vacation or just a weekend getaway. We want to thank the Bermuda Department of Tourism and the people of Bermuda for welcoming us back as we showcase this beautiful island to more of our SheROX athletes.”
The Toyota SheROX Bermuda festivities begin on Saturday, November 3rd as athletes are encouraged to join a group ride of the bike course, enjoy a beautiful morning of resort activities, pick up their race packets and attend an informal pasta dinner at The Fairmont Southampton.
The race begins on Sunday morning with a swim in the waters of the protected cove of East Whale Bay at the Fairmont Southampton’s Beach Club.
The bike and run courses along South Road provide one of the most scenic sprint tri courses in the sport with panoramic views of ocean. A Sunday evening awards party caps off the Toyota SheROX Bermuda experience.
In its sixth year, the Toyota SheROX Triathlon Series featured eight race weekends in 2012 with six returning locations [Naperville, IL; Detroit, MI; Philadelphia, PA; Asbury Park, NJ; San Diego, CA and Bermuda] and two new venues [Cherry Creek, CO and Devens, MA.]
The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund [OCRF] serves as the Official Charitable Partner of the 2012 Toyota SheROX Triathlon Series. OCRF is dedicated to the formulation of early diagnostic treatment programs and research toward the ultimate conquest of ovarian cancer. SheROX athletes can join “Team Hope”– pledging to raise funds for OCRF as they race.
