Bermuda Wins “Sunniest Arrival Port” Award
Bermuda has been recognised by Porthole Cruise Magazine with the 2013 Editor-in-Chief [EIC] Award for the Sunniest Arrival Port.
The EIC awards are presented to companies in the cruise and travel industry that have gone above and beyond in terms of service, quality, and excellence.
Winners of the EIC awards are selected annually by Porthole’s editor-in-chief Bill Panoff, who uses his editorial expertise to select his most recent favourites from the cruise and travel industries. Bermuda’s award, along with 28 other winners of different categories, will be announced in the February 2013 issue of the magazine, as well as online at Porthole.com.
“Beautiful beaches, shopping, nightlife and secluded; Bermuda has it all,” states the award, explaining why the island paradise has become a “preferred destination for cruise ships.”
“We are honoured that Bermuda has been recognised as a highly desirable cruise destination,” said Shawn Crockwell, Minister of Tourism Development and Transport. “It’s very important to have a highly respected media outlet dedicated to the cruise industry acknowledge that our arrival ports exceed the expectations of our guests.”

WHERE?
Corporation of Hamilton should take note.
People do look for a different tourism product, something that resembles quaintness and the Bermuda of old in order to escape their daily lives and hustle & bustle.
Understandably, something needs to be done with Hamilton’s waterfront, but not the concrete jungle similar to that of the drawings released with their announcement yesterday which destroys Hamilton’s beautiful natural harbour.
Nightlife? et’s keep Bermuda’s “uniqueness”. I agree Jason.
