    • it's just a lame says:

      • it's just a lame says:

correction ,,,in search of a pay check,,,the public is watching,,

  2. media says:

I had heard Feb 1st too, but I suppose it was changed. Gives them another week to get a lot of stuff ready.

  3. Webster says:

I am pissed off with Shawn Crockwell, he has hired local consultants !! I want to know at what cost to us !! is he saying he is not capable of doing the job ? people it is the same old $%^& and we are the loosers again.

    • swing voter says:

I’m not thrilled either…but lets see if Corey and Crockwell can turn things around…..the ROI may be worthwhile….besides its no comparison to Global Hue, but still….didn’t see this coming so soon.

      • LORD HAVE MERCY says:

ROFL @ lets see if Corey and Crockwell can turn things around ……you mean Corey

    • Mad Dawg says:

Ewart was sending $100m to overseas “consultants” who delivered nothing. Were you annoyed about that too?

    • ABM says:

Stop complaining man. At least he keeping the dollers on island.

    • Islander says:

would you have preferred that he hire a consultant to study a study that had previously been studied and collected six figures for doing nothing – Webster you sound as if you were happy with the way things were – continuously being robbed.

  4. 32n64w says:

Let’s hope the first few pages of the throne speech provide a complete and thorough summary of our exact financial picture including debt, the current operating deficit, all overdraft balances, detailed current liabilities, revenue and expense numbers as at December 31st 2012 with subsequent pages dedicated to how the OBA plan on fixing the mess they inherited from the PLP.

    • welldone says:

      Throne speech is about legislation.

It is the budget that deals with the finances.

      • sonso says:

the budget follows shortly after the throne speech though

  5. Concerned Citizen says:

@32, I think you are speaking about the budget speech. Throne speech is about policies and program’s.

  6. god1st says:

If i have the time i will be attending this ceremony.

  7. god1st says:

shadow ministers get paid as well, just not as much.

    • Concerned Citizen says:

Wrong! Shadow ministers only get MP pay.

      • M.P.Mountbatten JP says:

Hold on , Lets ask Nandi ! She’ll know the answer to that .

  8. madasahatter. says:

how can crockwell hires the same mindset that put us in this STINKING MESS in the first place?what’s wrong with savvy Tony Brannon,K.Bascome,AndySimon,Baron, some young entreper.like DennyO’Connor,Michael Jones,The Thomas Bros..,this total betrayal to ppl who just pick this party.

  9. MaryS. says:

If the oba is rewarding those (with HIGH cushy positions) that inflict their ‘ineptness’on Bermuda for the last 14 yrs..then they are light weight and got no IDEAS of their own!

  10. Crazed says:

this is betrayal to the ppl who wanted change NOT the same old guard with their costly foolishness!@#$%^&**(

  11. joe brown says:

Is this how the oba going to rule Bermuda by giving the LA CREME JOBS to those who doesnt deserve it and ignore those who worked for them to get where they are the bottom of the pit ??

  12. Family Man says:

    Hilarious.

Dumb a__ qlq blogger madasahatter/Mary S/Crazed/joe brown doesn’t realise that simply changing ‘names’ while using the same IP number accomplishes nothing but to show the world his ignorance.

    • tolerate says:

Hahaha…. Is that why madasahatter, MaryS, Crazed, joe brown and whatnext have the same avatar? Surly “NO ONE” would stoop so low, (or have so much time) to post under 5 different names to try and make it look like many having opposition to the OBA’s decision? 9:09, 9:12, 9:14, 9:17, 10:24?
      Must be a Bernews glitch?

  13. Triangle Drifter says:

Hope all are ready for some very long days. No more carrying over this that to another sitting then carrying over again & again.

  14. whatnext.. says:

    Perhaps,indeed a position for cox?

  15. it's just a lame says:

i am disappointed with OBA,,it looks like they are looking for the inside traders,,,I thought it was about Change,,dont they have enough Talent in their Own Camp,,what next,, Paula, or Ewart,,,or maybe Burch,,,

  16. me says:

I voted PLP… I give Craig 9 more months as premier before one of the white dudes take over. We also have some shady ministers, did anyone ever get back to the debate on if there could be MPs with Criminal records? 10 new busses also… I thought the OBA was curbing spending, more consultants also… Where is this “change” they spoke to adamantly about?

    • sonso says:

that order for those 10 buses were placed when the qlq was in power

and it sounds like every single comment anti-OBA on this page is being written by the same angry, jealous, self-serving person who is just pissed off that their half-fast government is no longer in power.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

Puhleeese, how ignorant can you be? When do you suppose those buses were ordered? December 18th? Custom vehicles for Bermuda, most likely ordered a year ago.

The PLP contracts & existing arrangements will last quite some time before OBA effects fully kick in. Why do you think things cruised along quite nicely for a few years after the PLP took over from the UBP in 1998?

Watch out what you may wish for when it comes to MPs & criminal records. You would not want to break any panes in that glass PLP house of yours now would you?

      • Concerned Citizen says:

@ triangle, if that is the case, why crockwell taking credit for he photoop with the Yankees player? Why Trevor Moniz try to to announce a ” new” initiative that the PLP put in place one time ago, and take credit for it? You people are demonic I swear!

  17. Reality Check says:

I see some bloggers complaining abour “MORE CONSULTANTS”. What we need is a comprehensive list of all the PLP Consultants who were working for the former Government during 2012, together with their salaries, and then comparing that number, together with their total salaries, with the number being hired by the new OBA Government and at what cost. It is totally unrealistic to expect that a new Government will operate with absolutely no consultants, so let’s compared apples with apples.

    • Hmmmmm says:

YOu mean another copy of the list because you have it hundreds of times over. Every week in Opposition the questions were asked and answered. So tired of ignorance being used as a call for transparency.

      • Pastor Syl Hayward says:

@ Hmmmmm: What list??? The questions were asked multiple times, I agree, but I don’t recall them ever being answered in full.

If such a list was provided, please provide a reference so I can go look at it.

  18. Pilot001 says:

    To “me” lol, i agree!
