29-Year-Old Man Denies Touching Young Girl
In Magistrates Court this morning [Mar 5], a 29-year-old man pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawfully and for sexual purposes touching a young girl.
The charge alleged that an offence occurred between 1st May 2006 and 31st August 2006, when the young girl, now seventeen, was ten years old.
At this time, because of the nature of the offence, the media is not legally allowed to name the defendant. His trial was set for June 2013 and the man was granted bail of $10,000 and required to provide a surety in a like amount.
The Senior Magistrate also ordered that the man must not interfere with the complainant or any witnesses.

wow, 6yrs later? I’m not justifying his stupidity allegedly messin with a 10 yr old but the guy reputation is finished now. I just hope he isn’t being set up 6yrs later

It is very possible, even perhaps likely, that this young lady is just now coming forward after keeping a terrible secret for 6/7 years.
I’m not buying into your theory….maybe 2 or 3 years later, which would have made her 13yrs old, but 6yrs later? This sounds like a case of she said and he said, there is more to this.
Perhaps the young girl only now got the courage to speak out? We don’t know the facts but don’t condemn the young lady because she didn’t speak up in an ‘acceptable’ time period.

Perhaps the young lady is now old enough to make the complaint for herself. Sometimes parents don’t listen to their children, or they do not create a climate where the child feels comfortable to talk especially about things that are embarrassing. Worse, sometimes the child is made to feel like she is the one at fault.
We don’t know why this case is coming up now. For all we know, she blocked it out. We could speculate endlessly. I plan to wait and see what is reported, and hope that justice is fully served.
There is no statute of limitations on sexual offenses against children. I hope that more children/adults would come forward to say what has happened to them in the past. I think it is brave of the young lady to come forward. I hope that her example encourages others.
No matter what the issue is, if found guilty he needs to be punished.
23yrs old and allegedly wants to be with a 10yr old. If guilty, Please order a psychiatric as soon as possible. I hope this person wasn’t in a position of trust …This is truly mind boggling
