Cricket Team Win 3rd Consecutive Game, Lose 1
[Updated] The Bermuda National Cricket Team continue their winning ways, following up their wins over the Bahamas and Suriname, by defeating the Cayman Islands this afternoon [Mar 20]. They will take on the USA later today.
Cayman Islands won the toss and sent Bermuda to bat in their third match of the ICC Americas Division One Twenty20 Tournament in Florida.
Playing at the Central Broward Regional Park and Stadium, Bermuda reached 169/3 in their allotted 20 overs, captain Stephen Outerbridge scored 59 runs off 47 deliveries hitting 8 fours, while Janeiro Tucker finished on 46 not out off 27 balls, he hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. Dion Stovell was out for 32 off 29 balls hitting 5 fours.
In reply Bermuda restricted the Cayman Islands to 123/9 winning by 46 runs, Ian Rotsey was their top scorer with 32 runs, while Kevin Bazil scored 26 runs before being run out. In their second game of the day Bermuda won the toss and elected to bat on the same strip that they batted first on earlier in the day.
Bermuda was restricted to 133/8 in their allotted 20 overs with Janeiro Tucker the top scorer with 36. Dion Stovell added 35 and David Hemp scored 26. Danial Ahmed was the pick of the USA bowlers with figures of 4-0-26-3. In reply USA scored 134/7 off 19.1 overs.
