Bay Grape Tree Removal At Admiralty House

May 28, 2013

The Department of Parks said they wish to advise the public that a Parks crew must remove a Bay Grape tree from the shoreline at Clarence Cove, Admiralty House Park.

A spokesperson said, “Erosion, caused by wave action, has undermined the root system of the tree and there is concern that the weight of the tree may cause it to topple over.

“Initially it was thought that pruning it may be sufficient, but further analysis by the Department’s Maintenance and Development Superintendent, who is also a tree surgeon, has determined that the tree poses a serious safety risk. Therefore it must be removed.

“Parks staff plan to replace the tree with another Bay Grape tree, planted further back on the site, in the autumn. The Department of Parks would like to inform members of the public of this information prior to the tree’s removal on June 5th.”

Really? is living in a bubble. You really want the tree to fall on it’s own? You really want to close the beach to residents and visitors for a tree. I’m sorry, there is a reason why people are on top of the food chain and plants are at the base…
