Digicel: Cost Savings Of Incoming Network Calls

July 1, 2013

Digicel Bermuda is reminding its customers of savings they receive each year due to free incoming network calls.

“Since the introduction of Free Incoming Digicel Calls, our customers have enjoyed the freedom to answer in-network calls and talk for any duration without being charged,” says Wayne Caines, CEO of Digicel Bermuda. “

“The savings from this exclusive Digicel feature are huge and it’s clear that some customers are even saving more than $1,000 per year from Free Incoming Digicel Calls alone. We want to take this opportunity to remind our customers of the incredible savings they get with Digicel. I have no doubt that Free Incoming Digicel calls are helping customers to pay for other things during this tough economic climate where many are seeking to stretch their dollars.”

Sales Director of Digicel Bermuda, Shane McDonnell adds, “The numbers don’t lie.” He explains, “Digicel customers are saving hundreds each year in comparison to CellOne customers who are not entirely afforded this benefit whereas every single Digicel customer is. For example, should a CellOne customer [Pam] using a basic talk plan receive a call from fellow CellOne customer [Joy] and have a 15 minute conversation, the call would cost Pam $0.35 per minute totaling $5.25.

“If Joy called Pam once a week for that duration, Pam would have paid $273 throughout the year just to receive Joy’s calls. Since Joy would also pay $0.35 per minute to make the calls the two parties combined would pay $546 per year.

“On the other hand if Pam and Joy were Digicel customers, the calls would always be free to receive and Pam would save $273 per year. Given that scenario, now imagine if Pam and Joy were mother and teen-aged daughter. Free Incoming Digicel calls would save this family at least $273 per year.”

  1. Question says:

Id like to provide Digicel and myself more financial savings. How do I determine if a cell number is Digicel or not?

  2. Umm.... says:

I did not know this. CellOne, please respond with similar or I will be switching my service. I will never pay to talk to a Digicel customer. I’d simply call them for one second and hang up so they can see the missed call and call me back.

  6. O my Dacious says:

So you mean, incoming Digicel calls are free ? and I am paying for incoming calls on SMELLONE ?

    A no brainer ! I am switching today !

  7. Right says:

But If I roam with Digicel they charge way, way more for data than Cellone. The charges aren’t even competitive. My bill has been lower at Cellone than it ever was at Digicel even without roaming added. Besides, when I walk in to Cellone I am always greeted by friendly people. I won’t even talk about my experiences at the Digicel store because I could go on for hours!

    • Left says:

You pay a cell phone company to roam when prepaid service and WiFi is so easily available??? CellOne are lucky to have customers like you who actually care about roaming rates.

  8. Licker says:

This is old news. they’ve said this before, that’s why my son has digi prepaid.

when his credit goes down to almost nothing, he can still take my calls…we don’t have to top him up half as much as we used to

  9. RogerING says:

Pam and Joy are my friends…I am going to speak to them to see if its true…

    I heard Pam is a real hottie…
