Vote Online For Miss Bermuda Katherine Arnfield

September 13, 2013

The 63rd annual Miss World competition is underway in Indonesia, and Miss Bermuda Katherine Arnfield, is quickly making her way up the rankings in the march towards the People’s Champion Award, presently sitting in 22nd place.

It was only earlier this summer that Miss Arnfield was able to beat six other competitors in order to claim the title of Miss Bermuda, becoming one of the youngest contestants in history to do so. That age difference has followed her to the Miss World competition, with the island’s representative ranking as one of the youngest competitors in those circles, as well.

Now, with several areas of competition ahead for those ladies who would claim the Miss World crown, all contestants are eligible for the People’s Champion Award, an honour that is voted on by the viewing public and awarded at the end of the competition. Katie has already made moves in that area, currently finding herself ranked at 22 of the 131 contestants, with a worthy finish in her sights.

That’s where you come in!

If you’re a proud Bermudian looking to support this young lady in her quest to represent our island home around the world for the next year, you can help out by casting your own vote for her. To this end, the Miss World App has been released by the competition’s organizers, giving you the opportunity to not only cast your vote in support of Miss Arnfield, but to keep up on all of the latest happenings in the competition, as well.

Available for the iPhone, iPad, and all Android devices, you can purchase and download the app to your mobile device for only 99 cents, earning yourself two free votes towards the People’s Champion Award in the process.

What’s Up Next For Miss World 2013?

The Miss World competition has only just gotten underway, so there are plenty of facets of the event yet to come, including:

    • Beach Fashion Competition – this leg of the event will see the ladies go toe to toe with their beach fashion sense, with the goal being to demonstrate 125 beautiful ways to wear a sarong. While Miss Bermuda did well in the first round of this event, she doesn’t find herself in the 10 finalists.
    • Beauty with a Purpose Competition – this event casts its focus on the contestants’ inner beauty, with each young woman presenting her favourite charitable project and the selfless work that she’s put into it. The winner of this event not only gets a leg up on the competition for the Miss World crown, but will also be awarded $10,000 for the charity of her choice.
    • Sports and Fitness Competition – being beautiful means being healthy, and that’s the focus of the surprisingly grueling sports and fitness competition, an event that will see each of the contestants put through their physical paces.
    • Talent Competition – true to its name, this event offers each young woman the opportunity to show off her own unique talent, whether that be singing, dancing, or anything else.
    • Top Model Competition – considered one of the most important aspects of the overall Miss World competition, the top model challenge event allows each contestant to show off her poise, grace, and catwalk skills. This year’s Top Model Challenge will take place on September 20 in the city of Jakarta, as each of the 48 chosen participants work to show off their beauty in unique Indonesian style.

When all is said and done, Miss World 2013 will be crowned on September 28 at the Sentul International Convention Center in Sentul City, followed by a coronation ball.
