Fifth Screening Of Jewel Thief Documentary Film

The Bermuda Documentary Film Festival has scheduled a fifth screening of the documentary film The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne.

The film will screen on Saturday November 9 at 3 p.m. in the Tradewinds Auditorium of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. Four previous screenings of the film have sold out. Tickets are available at the Oceans Gift Shop, BUEI, or by calling 294-0204.

The film tells the story of Doris Payne, a glamorous and charismatic 82-year-old international jewel thief, who uncovers the secrets of her trade and what drove her to a 60-year life of crime.

Ms Payne recently hit the headlines again, after she was arrested again a few days ago after allegedly stealing a ring from a jewelry store in Palm Desert. The theft allegedly occurred on October 21, and she was arrested on suspicion of felony larceny, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
