42 Goals Scored In Women’s Futsal League

A total of 42 goals were scored during the final Women’s Futsal League matches inside the Warwick Academy Gymnasium. In all three matches, fans were treated to the season’s most outstanding goal scoring and goal keeping action.

PHC Lady Zebras 14 Hamilton Parish 2

The tension was high at the start of the game as it was evident that the PHC Lady Zebras came out with a plan to help their player Jessica Furtado, who was 4 goals behind leader Shauntae Todd of the Somerset Hurricanes, score as many goals as possible to give her a chance to win the top goal scorer award. Hamilton Parish managed to keep her mostly in check for the first half with PHC leading 4 – 0. However, in the second-half PHC were unstoppable.

By the end of the game Furtado had scored an impressive 10 goals to lead the PHC Lady Zebras to win the game 14 – 2. Aaliyah Nolan added a hat-trick and Leanne Yates added the other in support of Furtado, who was the most outstanding player for the PHC Lady Zebras. With her 10 goals, Furtado won the league’s top scorer award, scoring an impressive 28 goals for the season. Hamilton Parish’s Asrael Basden and Jayda Hill-Steede both scored 1 goal each, with Basden the MVP for Hamilton Parish.

Dandy Stars 13 Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds 3

Another high scoring game saw Dandy Stars’ Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil score 11 goals, coming close to winning the goal scoring title. Kyla Ramatar and Kashintae Fox each scored 1 goal each in support. Kyanne Scott-Fishenden, Zekiah Lewis and Satyrah Robinson replied for the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds scoring 1 goal each. Dandy Stars won the game 13 – 3 with Darrell-Virgil outstanding for Dandy Stars and Sher-Kyra Outerbridge was MVP for the Young Men Social Club Lady Bluebirds.

Footy Force Stars 5 Somerset Hurricanes 5

The last game of the evening and the season was the most entertaining with both teams scoring an array of incredible goals combined with fantastic goal keeping. Footy Force jumped out to an early lead and at half-time they led 3 – 1. The Somerset Hurricanes regrouped and with the last few seconds of the match scored to even the game at 5 – 5. Both goal keepers, Jaeda Smith from Footy Force and Charmaine Saltus from the Somerset Hurricanes were outstanding and MVP’s for their respective teams.

The Force Stars got two goals from Cheyra Bell and Zahra Gibbons and K’Shaela Burch-Waldron added the other, while Sierra Fisher and Dazhja Greaves scored two goals each for the Somerset Hurricanes, while Shauntae Todd added the other.
