Virgin Atlantic Flight Diverts For Sick Passenger

At approximately 9.45pm tonight [May 16], Virgin Atlantic Flight #34 landed at the LF Wade International Airport after diverting to the island for a sick passenger.

The Virgin Atlantic flight departed Saint John’s, Antigua this afternoon and was on route to London Gatwick Airport when the pilot made the decision to divert to Bermuda.

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel and an awaiting ambulance met the plane at the terminal where the passenger was disembarked and then transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital. The plane took on fuel and continued on its journey, departing at approximately 11.15pm.

    • Not a bad idea, took Virgin to South Africa and the service was a whole lot better then BA

        Flew virgin from JFK to Heathrow and was terrible. Was 747 and seats are the most cramped ive ever seen on any airline. Guess thats why it is so much cheaper than BA. Wont make that same mistake again.
