Waste Collection Advisory Post Tropical Storm
[Updated] The Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works is advising the public that it will be collecting west end household waste from main roads only today [Oct 13], due to the continuing clean up of debris caused by Tropical Storm Fay.
A spokesperson said, “The Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works would like to advise residents that it will be collecting west end household waste from main roads only.
“As side-roads become clear of debris, regular service will resume. Residents are asked to take their waste bags to main roads for collection today only in the west.
“Further information regarding tomorrow’s east end collection will be forthcoming later today [Oct 13]. The Ministry of Public Works appreciates the public’s understanding.”
Update Oct 13, 12.10pm: A spokesperson said, “The Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works would like to advise residents that it will be collecting household waste from main roads and any side roads that are passable in the Eastern Zones.
“Collection staff were only able to collect on the main roads in the West yesterday [Oct 12] and a few side roads. As side roads become clear of debris, regular service will resume. Residents are asked to take their waste bags to main roads for collection today only in the East.
“The Ministry of Public Works appreciates the public’s patience and understanding and looks forward to resuming regular waste collection service as soon as possible.”

gotta love it!!! Trash needs to be out before 8 AM so they make this announcement at what time??
Forthcoming when? It’s now 10PM.
Now 5.30am Tuesday, and no sign of any announcement for east end trash collection today, when allegedly trash has to be put out by 7am. Come on Bda Goveernment get your act together. All that is going to happen is trash will be put out a) in the regular places on all roads or b) dumped any old where.
Belco are making sterling efforts post-storm. Where is the Government’s most basic information?
