MSA To Celebrate Catholic Schools Week

January 23, 2015

Mount Saint Agnes Academy [MSA] is getting set to begin the celebration of Catholic Schools Week with a mass at St. Theresa’s Cathedral at 11.30am on Sunday, January 25, 2015, with the entire community invited to join.

A spokesperson for Mount Saint Agnes Academy said, “Catholic Schools Week was started in 1974 by the National Catholic Educational Association [NCEA] as an observation and celebration of the role of Catholic schools in local communities.

“The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2015 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.”

“The theme encompasses several concepts that are at the heart of a Catholic education. First, schools are communities – small families in their own right, but also members of the larger community of home, church, city, and nation.

“Faith, knowledge and service are three measures by which any Catholic school can and should be judged.

“MSA is Bermuda’s only private Catholic School and has played a vital role in the community since its inception nearly 125 years ago. The school will celebrate its 125th anniversary on March 3, 2015.”
