Registration Now Open For Annual P.A.L.S. Walk

February 16, 2015

The 27th Annual P.A.L.S. Walk will be held Sunday, March 1 to support cancer care in Bermuda. This is the organization’s key annual fundraiser, with contributed funds donated to medical care, equipment and supplies for cancer patients who are in need of support.

Ann Smith Gordon, P.A.L.S. President and CEO, commented: “It was 28 years ago when Diana Simons dreamed up the novel idea of a Sponsored Walk from the Dockyard to Albuoy’s Point in order to raise funds for P.A.L.S. Since that time thousands of people, young and old, including babies in prams and even dogs have enjoyed the ferry ride under a glorious sun rise before setting off on the trek, mostly along the Railway Trail, to the finish line in Hamilton.”

Walk pledges enable five P.A.L.S. nurses to make thousands of home visits annually at no charge, as well as provide a large array of medical equipment.

Registration for the event is now open. The registration fee is $25 [$15 for participants age 15 and younger].

Walkers must be registered prior to the day of the event and may submit the registration form and fee as follows:

Clarien Bank is the lead and sole sponsor of this year’s event. We all know someone who has been affected by this disease, and hope that you will join us in supporting this important cause by participating in this year’s event.”

Ms. Smith Gordon added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Clarien Bank as the lead and first sponsor of this, our 27th Annual Sponsored Walk and now P.A.L.S. major fund raising event of the year in support of cancer patients in Bermuda.”
