Astwood Dickinson To Relocate This Spring
Bermuda’s oldest jewellery retailer Astwood Dickinson will soon be moving its flagship retail operation to Orbis House located at 25 Front Street.
The 111-year old jeweler, which is part of the A.S. Cooper Group, signed a long-term lease with the landlords and will occupy approximately 5,000 square feet on the ground floor.
Mr. Cooper shared how the site complimented their future business vision, “The location and space offered the perfect setting to create our new flagship storefront as exclusive agents to some of the world’s most prestigious jewellery and watch brands. Our clientele will have the opportunity to preview collections on display as well as receive private one-to-one service onsite.
“We have been working hard over the last twelve months to bring new and exciting luxury product to Bermuda. In parallel we have also instituted an intensive staff training programme based around world class standards and high level product knowledge. Just recently Astwood Dickinson has seen three of our sales team pass GIA certification courses. We look forward to showcasing our new product and skills.
Mr. Boyce further added, “We will commence interior build-out works as soon as Planning officials give us the green light and we plan to have work completed in the next couple of months, well in time for the summer and for the lead up to the America’s Cup and related events.
“We have a simultaneous project at the Walker Arcade beginning next month. We will be re-establishing the Astwood Dickinson boutique in what was the Picturesque Gallery at 47 Front Street. The two new Astwood Dickinson stores will certainly solidify our position as a world-class jeweler and we believe both will be very well received by our Bermuda and overseas customers.”
Astwood Dickinson, acquired by the A.S. Cooper group in 2005, represents some of the world’s finest watch brands including Cartier, Omega, Baume & Mercier, TAG Heuer, Longines, and Tissot; while Hearts on Fire, Effy, Mont Blanc, Links of London, as well as gold and gem set jewellery from all over the world are featured along with the 18 kt gold Original Bermuda Collection, designed and manufactured on-site by master goldsmiths. There will be a relocation sale at the current location 83-85 Front Street Hamilton, starting this Friday. For more information contact 292-5805.
That’s kind of sad…no sense of tradition anymore…
