Woman Charged With Assaulting Police Officer

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Apr 24], a 31-year-old woman was charged with two offences stemming from an alleged incident in St George’s.

The incident occurred on April 22 this year with the Court hearing  Lataunya Griffin allegedly violently resisted arrest, and then allegedly assaulted the police officer while in execution of his duty.

Griffin stood before Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo and pleaded not guilty to both charges. Griffin, who was said to be of no fixed abode, was granted $3,000 bail and was ordered to reappear before the courts May 6 for mention, and again July 8 for trial.
