Island’s Good Friday Celebrations Get Underway
Preparations for Good Friday celebrations began early this morning across the island, including on Horseshoe Bay Beach as organizers get set for KiteFest, which is set to take place from 11.00am through 6.00pm today [Apr 3].
A number of other events are taking place across the island, with PHC’s 1 Mile Walk/Run starting things off at 9.00am; that event was followed by the PHC Community Day beginning at 10.00am.
The Good Friday Family Fun Day at Somerset Cricket Club also began at 10.00am, while PLP Constituencies 15, 16 and 21′s One Community Unified event got underway at the same time.
Another Family Fun Day is set to begin at 11.00am at Garrison Field, with the St. David’s Cricket Club’s Gilbert Lamb Day getting underway at the same time.
Also starting at 11.00am will be the Southampton Rangers Sports Club’s festivities, followed by the Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club’s Good Friday Fun Day and Dandy Town’s Kite Competition, both set to begin at 12.00pm.

Another chunk of Bermuda land being dug out on the hillside, for someone’s ocean view palace…eroding the backdrop of our treasure. I recall there we no houses on that hill. Give it 10 more years for there to be houses spotted all over that hillside.

And don’t forget the wonderful reenactment of the Good Friday Walk to Calvery that was held in St Georges. Hundreds of people crammed through the narrow streets to see locals from all faiths gather together to remember the crucifixion.
