24-Year-Old Denies Causing GBH While Driving
Appearing in Magistrates Court, 24-year-old Donahue Sousa pleaded not guilty to a series of charges stemming from a vehicle collision in Devonshire on 21 February 2015.
The charges were driving whilst impaired; refusing to take a breathalyzer test; causing grievous bodily harm to another person by driving whilst impaired; and causing grievous bodily harm to another person by driving without due care and attention.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set 25th June for Mention, and granted bail, with a Surety, of $5,000.
The Magistrate then referred to the $3,400 in unpaid fines that Mr Sousa had owed since January 2015 and on which no payment had been made. After a representative of Mr Sousa’s employer made representations to the Magistrate, the Magistrate extended Mr Sousa’s time to pay the $3,400 to the end of July.
