Kevon Fubler Wins Cricket Sportsman Award

August 27, 2015

The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced the winner of the award for week 11 is Kevon Fubler of Willow Cuts.

The BCB said, “In the BCB Logic 50 overs Premier Division Willow Cuts, Cleveland, Somerset and Flatts are engaged in a critical battle for points to avoid relegation.

:On Sunday August 23rd Willow Cuts took on Cleveland in an important head to head battle at Somerset CC. During the game, when Willow Cuts all-rounder Kevon Fubler was bowling the Cleveland batsman, Aaron Adams, walked out of his crease while backing up at the non-strikers end.

“Under the strict interpretation of the laws of cricket Kevon could have run out Aaron Adams. However, in an act reflecting the true spirit of the game and sportsmanship Kevon warned the batsmen about leaving his crease too early.

“For his commitment to the spirit of cricket and chivalry even under great competitive pressure, Kevon Fubler has been selected as the Chivas Sportsman of the week.”
