Video: CCTV Of Armed Robbery In Warwick
[Updated] The CCTV video of the armed robbery that took place at around 4.20pm on Friday afternoon [Sept 11] the Money Shop in Warwick shows two men in dark clothing and helmets walking in, with the video showing the both suspects from two different angles.
The police previously said, “It appears that two men gained entry into the premises and brandished what appeared to be a firearm and made demands of money. They were given an undisclosed amount of money and they left the area.”
Superintendent Sean Field-Lament previously said, “As responsible members of the community we all have an obligation to help catch these perpetrators.
“We must put a stop to this type of anti-social behavior- it is not acceptable. So if you saw something…say something – the BPS will follow up any leads provided- help us make Bermuda safer.”
Anyone who may have any information on this incident is asked to please contact police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Update: A police spokesperson said, “At about 4.20pm on Friday 11th September 2015, a robbery occurred at The Hub, 61 Middle Road, Warwick. Two suspects entered the premises with one of them brandishing a firearm and money was demanded from the cashier. They then made off on foot in the direction of St. Mary’s Road.
- Suspect 1: About 5’5, medium/stocky build, long black pants, black jacket, black shoes and dark helmet. He also had a black/white and red “Fresh and Hungry” scarf over his face. This person has a distinctive walk with his right foot sticking off to the right.
- Suspect 2: About 5’10, slim build, wearing long dark pants, black shirt, black shoes and a dark colored helmet.
“Anyone with information on these matters is urged to come forward to assist in bringing the offenders to justice. If you have any information that will assist, please contact Detective Sergeant Kenton Trott at the Serious Crime Unit on 247 1484.
“Members of the public that assist in bringing the suspect[s] to justice may also qualify for a monetary reward by calling Crime Stoppers on 800-8477.”

They certainly look like they know there way around the store, they knew the place well. Must have scoped out the place before that day. From old cctv footage, comparing their distinctive walks should be able to get a pretty good idea.

There’s a simpler solution, based on technology. SeletaDNA spray, motion sensored and activated at the cash register. Placed above all entry/exit points it sprays a unique, synthetic marker on the perps. Unlikely they will even know they’ve been marked. Lot’s of retail shops using it, even McDonalds. Makes sense to me!

Why doesn’t Money Shop have proper cameras facing their door or toward the customer??? Where is the security guard? Shouldn’t they have one?
A question I ask when the grocery stores tell me to remove my helmet (clear visored), the “security” firms, police and the store owners have yet to figure out a camera pointing UP at or below chest level might actually result in revealing a culprits identity, but what do we know?
