October 19, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Oct 19], a 22-year-old  man pleaded guilty to unlawfully damaging a window of a business in Hamilton.

The Crown Prosecutor told the Magistrate that at 4:30am on 17th October, Royal Bermuda Regiment soldiers who were on traffic duty in support of the America’s Cup observed Jahfari Cyrus-Raynor striking windows in Hamilton.

They observed him break a window on Queen Street. This action was also caught on CCTV.

Police were informed, and they arrested Mr Curtis-Raynor.

In Court this morning, Mr Curtis-Raynor apologized and told the Magistrate that at the time, he was intoxicated.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo asked if the probation order that was already in effect on him had restricted him from imbibing alcoholic beverages.

The Magistrate ordered a probation review and that Mr Curtis-Raynor must be kept in custody until a sentencing date in early November.
