Photos & Video: Butterfield & Vallis Food Show
The Butterfield & Vallis Food Show was held yesterday [Oct 14], with chefs from around the island getting a look at a wide range of foods – including fresh, frozen, and dry products – aimed at aiding kitchens throughout Bermuda, with appearances from Sir Russell Coutts, musician Maxi Priest, and even the America’s Cup trophy.
The event also showcased the launch of ‘Sporting Chance,’ Butterfield and Vallis’ new online loyalty program which allows trade customers to accumulate loyalty points for potential redemption monthly against high profile sporting rewards.

Spencer Butterfield said, “We opened the show this morning, our annual trade show. It’s actually been two years since we’ve had the show, because last year the hurricane sort of knocked us offside, but we have 50 suppliers on island, supporting our customers, and showcasing their innovative, creative new products that are hitting the market.
“To open the show with us today was Sir Russell Coutts and we also had Maxi Priest; Russell brought with him the Cup, which we were super excited to have.”
“We’ve got fresh products, we’ve got frozen products, we’ve got dry products. Everything that you see in a restaurant, everything that a chef needs to use in the kitchen, we’re providing it, so there’s a number of items depending on what a chef is looking for, they can come and see what they’d like to add to their menu.
“When we heard that Bermuda had the potential to be the host for 2017 America’s Cup, we jumped right in. There was no second question; we said we have to be part of this, Bermuda needs this.
“It’s a massive event, it’s got massive global exposure, the technology enhancement that these boats have undergone and the way the media is now capturing the sport.
“It’s going to be spectacular to see this weekend, the camera shots displaying Bermuda to the world. And even more in 2017; we’re excited to build up to that event and just couldn’t be more excited about America’s Cup being hosted in Bermuda.”
