Shooting In West End, 25-Year-Old Man Injured
[Updated] The police have responded to the west end early this morning [Nov 14] after what we understand to be reports of gunshots in the area.
Crime scene tape is visible and unofficial reports indicate that one person may have been injured. Further details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.
Update 5.29am: The police have confirmed that one person has been injured in a shooting in the area of 9 Beaches in Sandys.
The police said the man was shot in his “lower extremities” and he was taken to the hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Update 6.40am: A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:40am on Saturday, November 14th police officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Nine Beaches [Daniel’s Head] Sandys parish.
“It has been confirmed that one male was shot and injured in his lower extremities. The victim, believed to be a 25 year old Sandys parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
“However, his wound is not considered to be life threatening.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses or persons with information regarding this incident should contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the anonymous and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”
This is crazy. We are living in a corrupted world these little boys who want to act bad. It scares me to have to raise my little ones in this madness. Not only should we be praying for Paris we need to be also praying for or own right here in Bermy..STOP THE MADNESS

The Bermuda Government’s financial statements have received a qualified Auditor’s opinion for the fifth consecutive year.
Auditor-General Heather Jacobs Matthews yesterday released reports documenting the results of audits of the Consolidated Fund for the years ending March 31, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
She pointed to serious deficiencies in internal control over the management of various capital development projects.
Ms Matthews said the deficiencies led her to question the appropriateness of certain transactions and the underlying value of assets.
The Auditor-General also cites the continued failure to provide summary financial statements that disclose the full nature and extent of the overall financial affairs and resources of the Government, the increased net debt, and incidences of non-compliance with Financial Instructions.

My question is was this someone from town or is this a new trend of in house fighting.If the latter then we will see a new level of violence in Somerset worse than anything town brought.As insane as this sounds at lease in the past everyone had an idea where the shooter was from and where to start looking.

I often take my kids to 9 beaches to Beachcomb and swim throughout the year, and I am honestly disgusted by the ‘citizens’ who live there. They smoke weed in public, curse loudly, and albeit they have never been disrespectful to us or the tourists who visit; however, it’s such a turnoff for such a ‘hidden gem’. They are often playing cards and getting rowdy/getting into arguments, and I wasn’t there and don’t know the facts, but please don’t link this to the horrible incident in France. This could very well (under certain circumstances) be an isolated incident.

I deal on a daily basis with most of these individuals that have been sentenced with gun crimes and its a big difference in certain areas and how the behave. If you know people that come in contact with some of the individuals ask them which side (area/gangs)do you have the most problems with and I bet the same answer would come up. Its only one area that terrorizes front street,chain snatches and pulls guns on tourist. other sides had to step up to enforce that this area was confined however just like what happened up rangers every where this area is allowed to go to it will always end up in some type of gun crime. people that don’t fully understand what is going on would not have a clue what i’m talking about but like I said ask people that deal with these areas on a daily basis and ask them what area do they have the most problems with. That is real problem for Bermuda.
Let’s hope it isn’t going to become the Wild West, and unsafe to host America’s Cup at the West End come 2017.
Regardless of the America’s Cup presence, Bermuda has a major issue to tackle.
The ending of this calls for parents, grandparents, friends, girlfriends, baby momma’s and the rest of this Island who know the persons involved with gangs, the shootings and all of the FACTS to tell what you know instead of allowing these people to run and eventually ruin their lives and that of their children.
