Miss Bermuda Advances In Miss World Sports
Miss Bermuda Alyssa Rose has placed second on the Yellow Team in the Sports Challenge eliminators at the Miss World competition, advancing to the sports final.
A social media post on the official Miss World Bermuda page said, “The top 6 finishers in each group advanced to the sports fast track final for the individual events, where they will compete in a series of grueling physical fitness exercises. Miss Bermuda’s second place finish for the yellow team, has guaranteed her a spot in the sports final tomorrow.”
Miss Rose has travelled to China, along with more than 110 contestants from all over the globe, for the Miss World event, which will culminate in the final event on Saturday, December 19 in Sanya.
The Miss World website says, “This year at Miss World, ahead of the Sports Challenge finals, we made the eliminators plain and simple. A straight forward challenge of physicality; strength and stamina; a gruelling bleep test. Taking place this afternoon, we can now announce the Miss World 2015 Sports Challenge finalists.
“The top 6 finishers in each group automatically advances to the sports fast track final for the individual events, where they will compete in a series of even more grueling physical fitness exercises, which include individual and team shuttle runs, long jump, 100 meter sprint, 400 meter relay, tug of war and more.”
Bermudians can support Miss Rose at the Miss World by voting for her using the Miss World app.
In describing the voting, the Miss World organisation says, “Once again the Miss World App remains the only place to have your say. Pick your top three via the voting panel on the Miss World app and your votes will decide who will be the People’s Choice Award Winner at the Miss World Final.
“We want everyone to play a part in the crowning of Miss World 2015, so show your support and get voting. In-app subscribers get an additional vote. Voting begins on Friday, November 20 and will be available until Saturday, December 19, with the lines officially closing at 21.30 local time [13.30 GMT]. No votes cast after this time will be counted towards the People’s Choice Award.”

Miss Rose, representing Smiths, was crowned the new Miss Bermuda on July 5, beating out five other competitors for the title.
