BLTA Mixed Doubles League Starts On March 7

As the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association’s [BLTA] Winter League Tennis Program winds down, the organization is starting a new Mixed Doubles League on March 7.

The Mixed Doubles league which will run for two months and is open to everyone and all levels of tennis. This will be a Round Robin event which will see pairs grouped according to player level, A or B.

There will be a matched schedule released and the required matches can be played island wide. Standings will be released online weekly with prizes to be award at the end of the league for the group winners.

Michael Wolfe, BLTA President, said, “We are looking to start something new in Bermuda tennis with this event. Mixed Double is a format that does not get a lot of coverage but can be both very competitive and enjoyable to play.”

Men, women, and juniors are all invited to join. Junior players must be 14 years old by December 31, 2016. Additionally, all players need to be current BLTA members. The annual BLTA membership fee entitles players to participate in all BLTA activities for the year.

The membership fee is $70 per adult player and $40 for juniors under 18 years old as at December 31, 2016. The entry fee for the league is $20 per pair.
