Sunday August 28th: “Good News” Spotlight
News that Kyle Fisher won the RUBiS ‘Fuel For Life’ promotion, Jahlae Outerbridge was awarded the KPMG Scholarship, Tyler Butterfield won the 2016 Ironman 70.3 Timberman triathlon in New Hampshire, and Bermuda model Ella Burt was featured in ’London Life’ magazine were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
Other good news stories included Lisa Blackburn winning four gold medals at the US Masters National Swimming Championships, the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son receiving the US Captive Services Award, and Rachel Tucker, Taylor Braithwaite, and Ciara Burrows being named the recipients of the 2016 CHW Scholarship and Bursaries.
In additional good news, the Bermuda Sanshou Association received $10,000 via the Cash Back for Communities programme, Kyle Hodsoll and Ryan Steede were named cricket Players of the Week, and eight interns successfully completed the Technology Leadership Forum 2016 summer programme.
Other positive news included Stevedoring Services giving $10,000 via its Education Awards programme, Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott giving a “superb” showing in his club’s 3-1 victory, and MS Amlin helping to provide school shoes for children.
