Court: 54-Year-Old Denies Prowling & Assault

Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 54-year-old man was granted bail after he denied multiple charges.

The Crown alleged that in September, Gerald Smith had prowled about a residence and had unlawfully assaulted a woman.

Smith was also charged with, on another date in September, had unlawfully assaulted another woman and had caused her bodily harm; unlawfully possessed a bladed article in the form of a machete, and was armed with that machete in such a manner as to cause terror.

The Magistrate set Mention for 21st October and granted bail at $5,000 with the proviso that Smith was to have no contact with the complainants.
