Motorcyclist Injured In Shelly Bay Collision

[Updated] Emergency services tonight [Sept 10] responded to a collision which occurred on North Shore Road in Shelly Bay, near the junction with Studio Lane.

There was a damaged motorcycle at the scene that had been moved to a nearby sidewalk and we understand the rider was transported by ambulance to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The road was blocked to vehicular traffic and motorists were directed through the nearby railway trail. Details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

Update Sept 11, 5.38pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:35pm on Saturday, September 10th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Studio Lane.

“It appears that a motorcyclist and a truck driver traveling in opposite directions collided in the vicinity of Bethel AME Church.

“Apparently the injured rider, a 20 year old St. George’s man, sustained a laceration to his foot as well as abrasions to his knees, elbows and hands which were not considered life threatening.

“Inquiries continue and witnesses should contact the main police telephone number on 295-0011.”
