Jamaica Defeat Bermuda In U/17 CFU Football

The Bermuda U/17 football team took on Jamaica in their Group A Opening match of the Caribbean Football Union [CFU] Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad & Tobago.

Bermuda’s starting line up was Blaiz Hall, Brandon Jones, Edry Moore, Jahquari Paynter, Kane Crichlow, Keishon Bean, Link Smith, Matteo Isaac, Quinaceo Hunt, Rahzir Jones, and Zhuri Burgess, with substitutes includingDiego Richardson, Enrique Russell, Lejaun Matthews, Mical Hartdman, MoZiah Selassie, Richard Jones, Robert Edwards, Simeon Burrows and Tai Williams.

Jamaica’s starting line up was Tajay Griffiths, Damani Osei, Kendall Edwards, Jamoi Topey, Kimanni Gibbons, Nickache Murray, Jeremy Verley, Blake White, Raewin Senior,
Nickque Daley and Kaheem Parris.

The Bermuda team found themselves down 1 – 0 after only 5 minutes with a long range shot from a Raewin Senior, and that lead was doubled ten minutes later when Kaheem Parris converted from the penalty spot.

In the 30th minute, Bermuda pulled a goal back when Rahzir Jones beat Tajay Griffiths in goal for Jamaica, and Jamaica would restore their two goal lead seven minutes later with a Kendall Edwards strike, and five minutes later it was 4 – 1 as Nickque Daley scored.

Jamaica then went ahead 5 – 1 with Parris scoring his second goal of the game. Tai Williams replaced Blaiz Hall in the 74th minute, five minutes later Bermuda made another change with Diego Richardson replacing Jahquari Paynter, two minutes later it was 5 – 2 as Bermuda got a goal from Tokia Rusell, who took a pass from Zuhri Burgess. Jamaica then scored again to make the final score 6 – 2.
