BUEI & L’Alliance Française To Show ‘Demain’

October 28, 2016

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] and L’Alliance Française of Bermuda is inviting the public to its French film series with a showing of ‘Demain’, an award-winning French environmental documentary to be shown with English subtitles

The showing will take place on Friday, October 28 at 7.30pm.

The event poster says, “Demain is a 2015 French documentary film with English sub-titles directed by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent. Faced with a future that scientists say concern, the film has the distinction of not giving into catastrophism.

“Optimistically, it identifies initiatives that have proven themselves in ten countries around the world: concrete examples of solutions to environmental and social challenges of the twenty-first century, be it agriculture, energy, economy, education and governance. Winner of the 2016 Cesar Awards.

“An inspiring film not to be missed.”

Along with the screenings, a Sushi Happy Hour will be held at Harbourfront from 5.00pm to 6.30pm. An introduction by Mel Ferson, BUEI & Dimitri Despierres, Oracle Team USA, will be held at 7.15pm.

Tickets cost $15 for members, $20 for non-members and $10 for students, and are available by calling 294-0204 or visiting BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop.
