Photos & Results: FA Cup Preliminary Football

Wolves, St. George’s Colts, and X-Roads all walked away with wins in the recent FA Challenge Cup Preliminary football action.

Southampton Rangers 1 Butterfield & Vallis United 1

First Division outfit Southampton Rangers will have to travel to the BAA Field for a FA Challenge Cup Preliminary replay after they were held to a 1 – 1 draw with Corona League team Butterfield & Vallis United at the Southampton Oval.

After a scoreless first half, Davion Roberts gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 64th minute, but that was cancelled out in the 76th minute when Marco Matos scored for Butterfield & Vallis United. The game would remain locked forcing a reply.

Hamilton Parish 0 Wolves 2

At the Wellington Oval, visitors Wolves advanced to the next round of the FA Challenge Cup with a 2 – 0 win over Hamilton Parish.

It was 0 – 0 at the break, but Wolves took a 1 – 0 lead when Kyle Brangman scored in the 54th minute, Marcus Ming would double the lead in the 88th minute to earn the win.

St. George’s Colts 2 Paget Lions 0

The St. George’s Colts advanced to the next round of the FA Challenge Cup with a 2 – 0 win over the Paget Lions at the Wellington Oval. After a scoreless first half Donovan Thompson gave the St. George’s Colts the lead in the 47th minute, Thompson would then double the lead with a strike in the 90th minute to earn the win.

X-Roads 2 St. David’s 1

At the Garrison Field, Aaron Spencer gave X-Roads the lead in the 23rd minute against visiting St. David’s, that lead was doubled in the 43rd minute when Antinori Butterfield found the back of the net.

St. David’s would pull within one when Diego McCallan scored in the 85th minute, but they could not find the equalizer as X-Road’s will go in the draw for the next round.
