Ministry: Road Works Planned In West End

The Ministry of Public Works said they wish to advise the public that it will pave Somerset Road and Mangrove Bay Road starting on Thursday, November 17th.

Work will start from Watford Bridge, along Mangrove Bay Road, and continue down Somerset Road to end at St. James Church.

The Ministry said the aim is to have all works completed by December 1st 2016.

    I wonder if the AC was not coming to Bermuda would they have done this. Its really annoying when people do things because of an upcoming event etc.. Stay on top of these and do preventative maintenance problems will not get out of hand like these roads and ALOT of other things.

      Exactly, this road has long needed attention… I get that they want to project a good image, but project one for the populace sometimes..

        The ‘good image’ for the general populace is projected when there’s a lot of sudden road paving work going on right before an election . I seem to recall a lot being done in the west end in October/November 2012 actually .

    Thankful. Does this include repairs to water drains on Somerset road? Severe flooding takes place when it rains.

      Probably not, they’ll pave the road then dig it up after.
